Event Discussion Questions

Amanda Pinney, Manager of Museum Programs at the National Baseball Hall of Fame & Museum, has provided the following questions for class discussion on Thursday.

What was the purpose of the event? Was the purpose clear? Did the event serve it's purpose?

What were your event goals? Were these goals met?

Who was your target audience? Did they attend? If so, why? If not, why? Did you attract other audiences? If so, who and why?

How did you prepare for the event? Is there anything you should have done differently?

How did you publicize the event? Is there anything you should have done differently?

How did you implement the event? Is there anything you should have done differently?

How did you evaluate the event? Is there anything you should have done differently?

Overall, was the event successful? If so, why? If not, why?

Should you hold another event similar to this in the future? Why or why not?

so these are some things that i thought were key for the discussion/how to improve: 1)That it seems like the event was successful and more should take place in the future 2)On the survey there probably should have been a column when rating activities that said "did not participate" as someone could not accurately rate it if they didn't participate 3)maybe next year if we know about the program in advance more prof. could annouce in class about it/other clubs be notified directly 4)often during the event people would look a little awkward as they peeked in the tent because they did not know what was going on. When i was on the field if i saw that i tried to just say hi and give them some basic info so they knew what was going on..a greeter to give them info might be good so people know there was food and such.

Also, noted that in Question #5 on evalutaion, perhaps their should have been a column marked 'Did not particpate'

I was not there for the discussion so im not sure if it was discussed, but it seems odd that we would put a "did not participate" selection on the surveys, because if someone didn't participate, why would they take the time to fill out the feedback survey?
